AVAKids Operation Smile Fund Round 10: Continuing Its Journey With The “Operation Smile” Program In Hanoi

On the morning of August 19, 2026, Hospital E in Hanoi, in collaboration with Operation Smile Vietnam, the Vietnam Smile Surgery Center, and AVAKids as the program’s sponsor, held the opening ceremony of the “Operation Smile” program, taking place from August 17 to 21, 2026. On the same day, nearly 130 children received medical screenings, with 90 children identified as eligible for free surgery.
“Operation Smile” is a free surgical program for underprivileged children born with cleft lip and cleft palate, carried out by Operation Smile Vietnam since 1989.

The program is part of the AVAKids Smile Fund’s 2025 - 2030 journey, with the goal of providing free surgeries for children affected by cleft lip, cleft palate, and other craniofacial anomalies. Through these efforts, the program aims to give children greater confidence, support their integration into the community, and open up brighter futures with complete smiles.
From 2022 to 2025, through 9 “Operation Smile” programs, AVAKids partnered with Operation Smile Vietnam to sponsor free surgeries for 550 children. Continuing this journey, from 2026 to 2030, AVAKids has committed to sponsoring free smile surgeries for an additional 550 children, helping bring brighter futures to children affected by craniofacial anomalies, cleft lip, and cleft palate.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyet Hong, AVAKids Category Director, shared: “The Operation Smile program at E Hospital is the second program sponsored by AVAKids, bringing nearly 90 new smiles to children from Northern and North Central Vietnam.” AVAKids’ support not only provides the resources needed to ensure that smile surgery programs are carried out safely and effectively, but also represents meaningful care and support for children and their families, giving them greater access to treatment and more opportunities for brighter futures.
In addition to medical screening and treatment, the “Operation Smile” program also presented special gifts to pediatric patients who received free surgeries from August 17 to 21, 2026, at Hospital E.
