On July 19, the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City and the Department of Industry and Trade of Ninh Thuận held a signing ceremony to acknowledge the largest procurement agreement by the Bách hóa Xanh chain. This agreement involves procuring and distributing grape and green apple products from local farmers in Ninh Thuận. It is the largest procurement contract for these two agricultural products in Ninh Thuận.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Trần Quốc Sanh, Deputy Director of the Ninh Thuận Department of Industry and Trade, stated that Ninh Thuận currently has over 980 hectares of grape-growing area, producing nearly 15,000 tons, and about 110 hectares of apple-growing area, producing nearly 26,000 tons. More than 182 products have been recognized as OCOP with ratings of 3 stars or higher, with grapes and apples accounting for 36% of the production and 66 products made from these two fruits.

In reality, many agricultural products and fruits from Vietnam face significant pressure from imported products, and grapes and apples from Ninh Thuận are no exception. With the connection between the Departments of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City and Ninh Thuận, the procurement agreement with Bách hóa Xanh will boost the market for these two products, enhancing the competitiveness and reputation of Ninh Thuận's specialties and providing a more professional pathway for local farmers.

Mr. Đậu Như Anh, Head of Fruit Procurement at Bách hóa Xanh, stated that this is the third year the company has secured the market for the province's fruits. In the first six months of 2024, Bách hóa Xanh sold an average of 350 tons per month, with peak periods exceeding 400 tons of grapes and apples, equivalent to approximately 4,000 tons per year. The procurement volume for the 2024-2025 period is expected to exceed 5,000 tons per year.

From the supplier's perspective, Ms. Nguyễn Ngọc Hà, a representative of Ngọc Hà Phước Thuận Co., Ltd., noted that the inclusion of grapes and apples in the supermarket system has significantly boosted their market output. In the three years since introducing Ninh Thuận's grapes and apples into supermarkets, the company's market output has doubled compared to the period when they self-distributed the products.

This agreement demonstrates the strong commitment of Thế Giới Di Động Group in general and Bách hóa Xanh in particular to strengthening the product value chain and ensuring sustainable supply chain management. It supports farmers in expanding their cultivation areas with confidence, facilitates increased procurement volumes, and promotes sustainable development. At the same time, it delivers and promotes high-quality domestic agricultural products to customers.
