Towards a green and circular economy and limiting plastic and CO2 emissions are themes that The Gioi Di Dong (MWG) has pursued recently. Following initiatives such as placing collection bins for used batteries, installing solar energy systems, and recycling waste into organic fertilizer, The Gioi Di Dong continues its collaboration with Limloop, a subsidiary of Hali Care, a social impact enterprise specializing in recycling nylon waste and banners.

About this collaboration, Limloop will collect banners and advertising banners at the thegioididong.com, Dien May Xanh, Bach Hoa Xanh, and Nha Thuoc An Khang retail chains to manufacture them into fashionable bags. Notably, Limloop is a company where most employees are people with disabilities.

In the initial phase, the collaboration will take place in Ho Chi Minh City and will be expanded nationwide. According to estimates, the collected banner volume in the initial step will be 1000 kg per month.

Ms. Le Thao Trang, the Marketing Director of The Gioi Di Dong, stated, "We aim not only to be a leader in retail but also to take the lead in environmental protection activities. In fact, many of our customers are very humane and cultured, especially the youth, who are concerned about environmental issues. Therefore, our actions also aim to express gratitude to those customers who have always supported us."

Recycling used banners and advertising materials to transform them into fashion bags not only serves the purpose of greening the earth but also represents an innovative idea. In recent years, Limloop has been known in the market for its flagship product, the first and only recycled woven nylon bag in Vietnam. From 2021 to now, Limloop has recycled nearly 2 tons of various types of nylon. Banners and advertising materials are the following creative materials that Limloop will focus on in the future.

Ms. Truong Thi Hong Nhung, CEO of the Limloop brand, said, "We are always proud to be a social impact business with two goals: towards the environment and people with disabilities. However, combining these two responsibilities always poses significant challenges for us. Therefore, collaborating with a large corporation like The Gioi Di Dong has added a lot of motivation for us to create even more positive impacts for the environment and society."

Immediately after the signing ceremony, representatives from both sides witnessed the banner collection activity at the supermarket, which will be carried out at the end of each month. The activity was attended by Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 Ngọc Châu.
