On November 16, 2024, at the Vietnam Listed Company Awards Ceremony 2024 (VLCA 2024), Mobile World Investment Corporation (HOSE: MWG) proudly secured a place in the “Top 10 Best Corporate Governance Companies” – Large-Cap Group.

The Vietnam Listed Company Awards is an annual event co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, Hanoi Stock Exchange, and Vietnam Investment Review. The judging panel consists of leading, independent, and experienced experts from reputable organizations in the market, such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and four leading auditing firms (Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, PWC). 

This year, the awards attracted more than 500 participating listed companies from both stock exchanges. The enterprises underwent two rigorous selection rounds, graded in the final round by the judging council from top managers and experts in securities, auditing, and corporate governance. After 6 months of appraisal and voting, the Voting Council selected 44 excellent enterprises in 3 categories: Annual Report, Corporate Governance, and Sustainable Development Report to officially honor.

Representatives of the Top 10 Best Corporate Governance Enterprises 2024 award

According to the organizers, the evaluation process for the best corporate governance companies was based on publicly disclosed information on the companies' websites, the State Securities Commission of Vietnam, and the Stock Exchanges. Additionally, companies must comply with the legal regulations of the Enterprise Law, Securities Law, and Vietnam Corporate Governance Code of Best Practices.

This year marks a significant change in the assessment of the corporate governance awards by changing the scoring structure towards increasing the proportion of practice points to 40% (from 30% in previous years) and reducing the compliance score from 70% to 60%. This change encourages businesses to apply more international practices to corporate governance, raising the governance standards beyond compliance.

In the Corporate Governance category, 107 companies with the best corporate governance were selected for the final round, categorized by market capitalization. Among them, 37 companies belonged to the large-cap group, 34 to the mid-cap group, and 36 to the small-cap group. In the final round, the voting council selected 26 outstanding companies to award.

Mr. Trieu Thanh Thinh, Head of Sustainability - ESG, represented Mobile World Investment Corporation (MWG) to receive the “Top 10 Large-cap Best Corporate Governance Companies 2024” from Mr. Bui Hoang Hai - Vice Chairman of The State Securities Commission.

In 2024, MWG was also honored in the “Top 100 Most Valuable Brands in Vietnam 2024,” “Top 100 Largest Companies in Southeast Asia 2024,” “Top 10 Best Retail Brands 2024,” “Top 50 Exemplary Sustainable Development Companies in Vietnam,” “Top 20 Companies with the Best VNSI Sustainable Development Index in Vietnam 2024,” and “Top 3 Large-cap Listed Companies with the Investor Relations (IR) Activities highly rated by Financial Institutions in 2024.”,.etc

At the end of Q3/2024, MWG recorded a net revenue of VND 99.767 billion and an after-tax profit of VND 2.881 billion, completing 80% of its revenue target and 120% of the profit goal 2024. In parallel with ensuring efficient business operations, MWG has also actively organized and participated in activities to enhance community life and raise environmental awareness.
