On July 15, 2025, at the awards ceremony for the “Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Awards in Vietnam 2025”, MWG was honored in the Minimize Carbon Footprint category. This marks the fourth consecutive year that MWG has been included in this prestigious ranking, highlighting the company’s persistent efforts in aligning business growth with environmental and social responsibility.
The Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Awards in Vietnam program is organized annually by Nhip Cau Dau Tu Magazine to honor companies leading the way in integrating sustainability into their long-term strategies. The Minimize Carbon Footprint category is evaluated based on criteria such as pursuing low-carbon strategies, optimizing energy use, and adopting renewable energy. MWG’s recognition in this category affirms the company’s continuous efforts to embed ESG practices into its operations and aim for sustainable growth.
This annual program covers three business sectors: FDI enterprises, listed companies, and unlisted companies. The evaluation panel includes representatives from HSBC Vietnam, PwC Vietnam, Schneider Electric Vietnam, the Institute for Circular Economy Development, Talentnet, VinaCapital, and Nhip Cau Dau Tu Magazine.
In support of the Government’s Net Zero 2050 commitment, MWG has identified ESG as a key strategic direction. It also serves as a message of shared responsibility across communities and stakeholders. The Group has set out a specific roadmap for 2024–2030, with long-term commitments such as expanding clean energy projects, adopting green technologies, and optimizing resource use.
In 2024, MWG implemented various practical initiatives to reduce environmental impact and raise awareness among employees and partners throughout its value chain. By year-end, MWG had expanded its rooftop solar panel system to 643 sites nationwide, significantly contributing to GHG emissions reduction. Looking ahead to 2025, MWG aims to scale this initiative even further.
In parallel, the Internet of Things (IoT) system was further deployed across 1,736 stores, enabling real-time monitoring and energy efficiency. This project has helped reduce emissions, increase operational efficiency, lower electricity costs, and reinforce the company’s ESG commitments.
MWG believes that reducing carbon footprint requires more than just corporate effort – it demands collaboration across the entire ecosystem: businesses, partners, customers, and the community. Over the past year, MWG has actively launched community engagement programs such as battery and toothbrush recycling, plastic bottle collection at supermarkets, tree planting, waste cleanups, and sustainability-linked loans with clear ESG targets like GHG emission and plastic waste reduction.
To further promote its sustainability journey and affirm its ESG integration into core business strategy, MWG officially launched a dedicated Sustainability (ESG) microsite this past year. The site provides full ESG disclosures, bilingual content, and weekly/monthly updates on ESG activities. This transparent and timely communication reflects MWG’s commitment to fairness and accountability while helping investors access both financial and non-financial data to make well-informed and sustainable decisions.
MWG Receives the Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Awards
In addition to being named among the Top 50 Corporate Sustainability Awards in Vietnam, MWG was also listed in Forbes Vietnam’s Top 50 Best Listed Companies in 2025 this July. Impressively, MWG ranked among the Top 3 of the list, underscoring its strong performance and strategic transformation in the past year.
These recognitions from trusted institutions are great encouragements for MWG to further improve its operations with higher standards – more transparency, innovation, and accountability. They also reaffirm MWG’s commitment to contributing to Vietnam’s Net Zero 2050 goal, steadily moving toward a sustainable future under the philosophy: “Putting Sustainability at the heart of everything we do.”
